STACKING PENNIES
Out of the blue one day, I received a DM from Corey LaJoie, driver in the NASCAR Cup Series, who was in need of a t-shirt design. I am still to this day shocked that this opportunity ever came to be. I have been a NASCAR fan since I was seven so getting to work on anything racing-related has always been huge for me. "Stacking pennies" has been an adage that Corey has been using for years and really making a big part of his brand. The meaning of it, at least in Corey's case, is that since he currently competes in lesser funded equipment, in order to work his way up to being at a race-winning team he needs to aim for smaller "victories" in his current position. For example, finishing 14th when the car and team are only expected to finish outside of the top 20. Well, Corey asked me to illustrate this for a t-shirt that he would eventually sell on his site!
